VR is here whether you like it or not

I didn’t come from a video game household. My parents bought us bikes and told us to go play outside. Even though I really wanted to Nintendo Duck Hunter every Christmas as a kid, I’m glad my parents never gave into my pleas. I don’t think video games for kids are that great, to be honest too much screen time regardless if it is games or videos can be pretty detrimental to developing minds.

That being said all I hear about these days from my 10 year old nephew is about virtual reality. VR, as he calls it, is a tech that has never really taken off for consumers until only a few years ago. Facebook developer Mark Zuckerberg has shifted the entire focus of the company to a virtual reality world known as the Metaverse. If anyone knows what will be the next big thing, I’d trust Zuck.

I wasn’t a fan of the entire VR thing until I put on a headset at a friends party. We all had a blast watching each other punch the air and slash imaginary fruit, something that feels much cooler when you are inside VR then it looks on the outside.

This guide from VR space lays out many of the VR headsets that have been developed, all the way back to the era of Duck Hunt!

VR is fun, it’s cool and it is here to stay. The possibilities are endless and trust me when I tell you, you want to get on board.
